Season Stats

Short Bio

Like teammate Justin Robinson, Trent is the son of a former NBA player (Gary Trent) who was selected 11th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in 1995. Unlike his father who played the power forward position, Gary Trent Jr. is a natural shooting guard at 6'6" and 202 pounds. Reasons why Trent was rated as the best shooting guard freshman by ESPN include his shooting, high free-throw shooting, and his ability to get to the basketball at will.

Role on the Team

Trent's strongest role on the team will be as a scorer. As a starter, it'll be up to him and Grayson Allen on the wings to provide three point shooting as Duval, Bagley, and Carter aren't great three point shooters. Furthermore, one of Gary's greatest strengths is his FT shooting, where he is currently shooting 90%+ from the free throw line. Although a natural scorer and shooter, Trent has trouble converting his shots into a high field goal percentage, but that comes along with the change of pace from the high school to college level.
