Short Bio

Relatively unknown to the college basketball world his freshmen year, Grayson Allen became a household name in the 2015 NCAA Championship Game when he unexpectedly contributed 16 points to lead Duke to its 5th title. However, Allen has since been known as one of the most despised college basketball athletes due to his tripping incidents in 2016. Although Allen could have left to the NBA after his sophomore and junior year season, he's back at Duke for one more try to win another National Championship. To read more about why Allen came back, read his thoughts at The Player's Tribune.

Role on the Team

As the lone senior and captain on the team, Allen will take it upon himself to be the leader of the team. Although Allen was appointed a team captain last year, the title was stripped from him after his tripping incidents. Despite the constant backlash if Allen is even fit to be the leader of this team, Allen will have to brush off the criticism from the media and not put himself in situations which may bring upon more criticism. On the court, though, Allen's main strengths are his 3 point shooting, his ability to get to the basket, and his pull up jumpshot. Likewise, Allen will most likely be in the top three for Duke in points per game and assists per game.
