An athlete with insane athleticism, Javin DeLaurier was still overshadowed by his five-star freshmen teammates from the class of 2016 that Duke recruited which included Harry Giles, Jayson Tatum, and current teammate Marques Bolden. Look for DeLaurier this year to have a bigger role playing the small forward or power forward position, depending on how big Duke wants to go. A lot of the coaches and players have said that they have seen Javin's skills proved immensely, and so far in the season, he has shown so.
Role on the Team
DeLaurier has currently been the player who has improved his game the most from last year's team to now. A year ago, Javin didn't even appear in 25+ games. Now, he has currently appeared in every game of the year so far and has made an immediate impact on the floor. His greatest strengths include his shot blocking and rebounding ability as well as his athleticism. If you're able to catch a game or go to Cameron Indoor Staduim this year, look for Javin to have a highlight dunk.
